What’s In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

October 1, 2017

Hello my loves, i’m back! For those of you who don’t know or those who don’t follow me on my social media sites i’ve been away for 10 days on holiday! I went away with my boyfriend to Turkey and i had the most amazing time. It was so nice to take a bit of time off and just relax, i don’t think i realised how much i need the break until i actually went away! However now i’m back and in full swing!

As mentioned i’ve been on holiday so I thought i’d share with you all the makeup i took away with me as i always love reading holiday themed posts myself. As the weather was really hot in Turkey i knew there was a few things i wanted to change up as i didn’t want/need a heavy base. I typically only wore makeup in the evenings during the day i was lounging by the pool and sunbathing so there was no need for it.

Superdrug Vitamin E SPF 15 Radiance Moisture Cream

The perfect moisturiser for holidays! Adds a subtle glow without looking glittery and really hydrates the skin. It has an spf of 15 so it’s fab to know it’s also got the sun protection in it too. I also loved using this alone without any makeup too as it gives my skin a more ‘lively’ look.

Rimmel BB Radiance in Medium

I knew i didn’t want any heavy bases or foundation on holiday so my first choice was a BB cream. This little gem from rimmel is fab. It has the perfect amount of coverage, feels super light and makes my skin look amazing.

Maybelline Eraser Eye in Brightener

Of course i needed concealer to cover up the effect of all inclusive cocktails! I love this concealer and it’s been one of my holy grails for years. The specific one is the brightener shade which i’ve really been loving.

Collection Illumining Setting Powder

Can you see a glowy/illuminating theme yet? To set my face i picked up this powder before i left as the illuminating claims seemed perfect for  my holiday. It’s a fab powder, it’s not extremely mattifying nor does it keep me matte but it did set my base nicely and added a glow. It has quite the duo chrome finish though so it needs a light hand else you’ll end up looking like a disco ball!

Barry M Liquid Chrome in At First Light

When holiday makeup shopping i was so excited to see this in my local superdrug as they must have been put out early by mistake as i’m sure they weren’t meant to launch until a few weeks later. However it was perfect timing for me! This highlighter is ah-may-zing. Super blinding, not for people who prefer a subtle highlight. I loved mixing it with the BB cream for an added glow and just using it straight on the cheekbones.

Maybelline NY Brick Bronzer in Blondes

Bronzer, a holiday staple! I love the tone of this bronzer it’s neither orange nor muddy just the perfect middle ground. I also love the little highlight side as when i was more tanned it was the perfect shade for me.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Kit in 001

The perfect kit for travelling, a highlight, contour and blush all in one. The contour shade is fab, it does have a sheen to it but nothing too much. The highlight is more subtle but it’s still beautiful and the blush is a lovely coral/pink shade.

Makeup Obsession Custom Made Kit

I knew straight away that i wanted to take this little kit away with me as it’s the perfect size for travelling and i can tailor which shades i wanted. I took a few staple shade like a transition shade, matte crease, champagne shimmer for the lid and then a couple other more fun colours. Bonus points for the big mirror in the palette too!

Primark Lash Curlers

A little boring but for me it’s an essential! I love curling my lashes for mascara as i think it makes a massive difference and really opens up my eyes.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara

I did originally plan on taking a waterproof mascara however i completely forgot to pick one up! Instead i ended up taking my trusty holy grail lash paradise.

Collection Brow Kit in Brunette

This collection brow kit is the perfect all in one. 3 brow powder shades to suit any brow and a clear brow gel to set them in place, perfect!

What has been your holiday/summer makeup essential?

Yay! I absolutely LOVE a nose in someone’s make-up bag, especially a holiday one! I love your flatlay skills and you’ve made me desperately want to try your brow kit (I’ve been using Sleek’s one but I feel a change coming on!)

I love the Superdrug face moisturiser, is so cheap and works so well! Its like a cheaper dupe of the Body Shop Vitamin E cream!

I love seeing what make-up other people use on holiday. I’m pretty similar in that I don’t really wear anything except SPF during the day – why ruin getting that natural glow?! xx

Ooh thanks for sharing, I love finding out what people take away with them as I often need to pack stuff just for carry on. These all look great especially that moisturiser.
