My Go-To Summer Essentials

Despite the ever changing British weather i’m still holding out hope for some more summer sun. When it comes to summer i love switching up my routine for lighter products and up’ing my summer glow.

Make up wise i opt for a light base, my skin has been a bit crappy lately so i’ve been reaching for the Clean & Clear Hint Of Tint Cover Cream in Light. The perfect amount of coverage, evens out my skin tone and helps treat spots at the same time. Underneath my base i’ve been loving the Seventeen Skin Wow Primer  this adds the most beautiful dewy glow to my skin and i even love adding some on top of my makeup as a liquid highlighter.

Of course i couldn’t write a summer essentials post without including bronzer. Bronzer has to be one of my holy grails regardless of the seasons, i love bronzing it up but summer just gives me even more of an excuse to pile it on. My forever favourite is the Essence Sun Club Bronzer in Sunglow , it’s the perfect shade and smells like a pina colada, very summer appropriate.

Skincare wise i like to keep it simple and not use anything too heavy, i recently discovered the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water  and i’m obsessed. It has a really light and watery consistency that is really cooling on the skin and gives you a boat load of hydration.

Tanning wise i try to go without fake tan and try to build a natural tan (not that it ever works), instead i opt for a gradual tanner just to give my skin that little boost of colour. I think it goes without saying that my favourite gradual tanner is the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk as i’m constantly raving about it.

I think it goes without saying that we all get a little hot and sweaty in the summer so a good deodorant is a must, my holy grail is the Dove Maximum Protection Deodorant . I’ve been using this stuff for years as i find it’s the only thing that keeps me dry and fresh all day long. On the topic of scent i also love switching my perfumes out for something lighter and sweeter. My go to’s are body mists and they are easy to wear and chuck into your bag for refreshes. I love the Hollister body mist’s my current one is in Willow Cove.

Lastly is hair, again i prefer minimal effort and i really can’t be bothered to sit and fully blow dry my hair in the warmer months so my go to is a salt spray. I love the look of undone, tousled and messy hair so the Osmo Matt Salt Spray is perfect. Unlike most salt sprays it has a matt effect so it doesn’t make your hair look wet or greasy it just give you beach babe waves that last.

What are some of your summer essentials?
