New Lush Summer Launches | Lush Plymouth Blogger Event

August 5, 2017

So yesterday i finally put on my big girl blogger boots and headed to my first ever blogger event. It just so helped that my first event was hosted by my favourite natural brand ‘Lush’. The event was to showcase all of their fab new launches for summer, armed with homemade cupcakes and peppermint truffles on arrival, i knew i was in for a fab night.

The event mainly revolved around the new ‘Jelly Face Masks’ and the new and improved ‘Hot Oil Treatments. Now the jelly masks i was super excited to learn about as i had seen a few snippets popping up on social media about them and i was super intrigued by the the concept.

For those of you who are fans of the jelly body washes you’ll love these. More creamier in texture and available in 5 different skin concerns there’s sure to be one for you. Bragging a 4 month use by life and without the need to refrigerate they are sure to be a hit.  The lovely ladies at Lush kindly gifted us a mask of our choice and i went for ‘FOMO’*. Tailored for sensitive skin FOMO is packed with soothing calamine, rose and neroli to calm redness and help balance the skin.

Next up was all about their hot oil hair masks. A lot of people were so excited to hear that they had made a come back, personally i’ve never tried them but after last nights demo i’m seeing why everyone was so happy. A rather unusual concept but the hair mask comes in a solid form on a stick, almost like a lollypop, you then swirl the stick into a mug of boiling water and watch as the liquid turns into a thick paste consistency. Once dissolved and cooled you can apply the mask directly to the hair and store whatever left as the mask has a use by life of 4 weeks.

There are also 5 masks in the line, a few are returning and improved like ‘Hair Doctor’ and the others are brand new edditions. Again the lovely ladies gifted us a hair of our choice and i opted for ‘Damaged’*. Damaged is tailored for you guessed it, damaged hair. For coloured, bleached and heat tool abused hair damaged is enriched with protecting olive oil, rich and conditioning avocado oil and comforting vanilla this mask will do wonders and the effects last for 6-8 weeks.

With all the new launches out of the way we then got the chance to make our own bubble bars (squeeeeeel). The bubble bar in question was none other than the ever so popular ‘comforter’. It was so fun to see a little glimpse into how their made and the tips for creating the perfect swirl. We got to hand mould our handmade mixture into whatever shape we wanted, i quite unimaginatively went for a heart although it definitely set into what looked more like a misshaped circle.

With the evening drawing to an end and everyone swatted up on all the new launches, armed with a goody bag and belly’s full on sweet homemade bakes we had a a few minutes to chat with the lush store girls, take photo’s and do a cheeky little bit of shopping. Of course i couldn’t help myself and i picked up 2 of the new bath bombs in ‘rocket science’ and ‘cheer up buttercup’ both with a really sweet citrus scent which is right up by street. I also picked up a bottle of their best selling tea tree toner mist which i can’t wait to use.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the guys at Lush Plymouth for inviting me to this fab event and for the ever so kind gifts. Also to the fab bloggers i met that night including the lovely Jemma from Dork  Face Blog (fangirling!!). Can’t wait for the next one!

This looks and sounds like such a fab event I absolutely adore Lush! I think going to a Lush event would even be surreal for me. I just picked up one of their new Jelly face masks which I haven’t got around to trying yet but I can’t wait. Making your own bubble bar is so cool, it sounds like you had a great time! A lovely read!
